November 19, 2025 | With Toy Safety Awareness Month in full swing, The Toy Association™ is encouraging companies across the toy and play community to amplify safety messages to families during the year’s busiest shopping season.

Throughout the month, manufacturers, retailers, and toy professionals across every corner of the toy industry can share toy safety tips, including the importance of following age labeling and safety guidance on toy packaging and how to shop for authentic toys from reputable companies and well-known brands. Companies have already begun sharing consumer-friendly reminders across their social media platforms, including Magna-Tiles, which recently posted a video about the durability of its products.

“Joining the toy safety conversation on social media can help parents and caregivers make informed purchasing decisions, while reinforcing the industry’s longstanding commitment to safety,” said Adrienne Appell, The Toy Association’s executive vice president of marketing communications. “Legitimate, responsible toy companies adhere to more than 100 strict federal safety requirements and tests, and Toy Safety Awareness Month offers an opportunity to highlight that commitment while steering shoppers away from non-branded, counterfeit, and non-toy items (i.e. adult desk toys containing high powered magnets, batteries, balloons, etc.) that are unsafe.”

For companies interested in taking part, The Toy Association offers assets that can be adapted for consumer-facing content throughout November and all year long. Or, follow The Toy Association on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and re-share content using #ToySafetyAwarenessMonth and #PlaySafe.

Additional resources are available at PlaySafe.org, the industry’s year-round play safety resource for parents and caregivers.
