Hottest Toy Trends of 2023 to be Unveiled at The Play Date

toy-trends-logoJanuary 20, 2023 | Looking for insight into the top trends in toys, play, and kids entertainment for 2023? Mark your calendars for The Toy Association’s annual “Toy Trends Briefing,” taking place March 8 at The Play Date, the exclusive Q1 media-only event presented by The Toy Association and Adventure Media & Events in New York City.

The Toy Association’s trend experts will offer attendees a first look at the top product trends of 2023 and discuss the latest developments in play featuring examples from exhibiting companies.

The Toy Association’s trends team has met with hundreds of toy and kids' entertainment companies over the past year and into early 2023 to scout the latest trends and uncover emerging play patterns. The team has also been closely watching trends in parallel industries impacting the toy space, including social media, tech, fashion, and more.

The “Toy Trends Briefing” represents the culmination of this work and will predict some of the biggest influences on toy and game purchases in the coming months with product examples shared from a wide range of company sizes and types. (A longer-form digital version of the presentation featuring additional toy examples will be released following the live presentation on The Toy Association’s YouTube channel.)

“Our top trends of 2023 will reflect the evolving influence of entertainment and social media on toys, as well as the return and reimagination of some beloved classic play patterns,” said Adrienne Appell, executive vice president of marketing communications at The Toy Association.

The Play Date will serve as the ultimate destination offering top-tier members of the media direct access to the hottest toys for this coming year. Companies of all sizes — including Spin Master, LEGO, Moose Toys, Just Play, Funko Games, Crazy Aaron’s, and more — have already signed on to exhibit at the event. All exhibitors will display and demonstrate their priority items for the year, including new spring launches and product that is yet to hit store shelves. Media and a very limited number of VIP influencers will be vetted under strict guidelines before they are approved to attend.
