Toy Fair New York: Continue the Fun After Hours!

February 11, 2019 | Whether it’s catching up with old friends and colleagues or forging new connections, there are numerous opportunities to network and connect with industry peers during Toy Fair New York even beyond official show times.

Here are a selection of evening events hosted by The Toy Association and its partners:

  • The Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards Gala
    Friday, February 15
    6:30 to 11 p.m.
    The Ziegfeld Ballroom
    141 West 54th Street
    New York, NY
    Toy Fair week kicks off with the TOTY Awards, the annual “Oscars” of the toy industry. The 2019 celebration will honor the most outstanding new toys, games, and licenses of the year; salute the industry icons being inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame; and support The Toy Foundation in its mission to bring joy, comfort, and play to children in need. While the event is sold out, guests can still attend a celebratory afterparty from 9:30 to 11 p.m. at the Ziegfeld Ballroom for additional networking opportunities. Tickets for the entire event are SOLD OUT but you can secure your afterparty ticket online for just $95.

  • International Welcome Reception
    Saturday, February 16
    6 to 7:30 p.m.
    Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Member Hospitality Lounge, Level 1
    An invite-only International Visitors’ Welcome Reception will take place on Saturday after the show closes to allow international Toy Fair exhibitors, press, trade officials, embassy representatives, and other attendees meet and mingle. 

  • Camp’s Open House on Opening Night

    Saturday, February 16
    6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
    110 Fifth Avenue
    New York, NY
    Following the close of the show’s first day, all Toy Fair attendees are invited to join inventors, designers, and other industry professionals at CAMP, the family experience store, to celebrate a new kind of brick-and-mortar retail business that puts the customer experience first. Admission is free.

  • The Toy Association’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) Presents LAUNCH
    Saturday, February 16
    6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    Jump Into The Light
    180 Orchard Street

    New York, NY
    Young toy professionals are invited to gather with industry colleagues and network with peers at The Toy Association’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) event, taking place at a new virtual reality space in trendy downtown Manhattan. The social gathering will include drinks, light bites, a panel discussion, and live entertainment. Admission is free. RSVP on The Toy Association’s website.

  • 5th Annual Great Canadian Play Date
    Sunday, February 17
    6 to 8 p.m.
    Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Member Hospitality Lounge, Level 1, Hall 1E

    Canadian toy industry members are invited to celebrate the great Canadian experience with colleagues and leaders of the Canadian Toy Association. Guests will enjoy a little play time after the show with friends, drinks, snacks, and a chance to win Canadian themed prizes. This event is only open to Canadians in the toy industry; bring a business card that includes a Canadian telephone number and/or address.
