Toy Fair Global Market Expansion Sessions: Learn How to Succeed in Brazil and China

January 29, 2019 | The Toy Association will present its latest global market research on Brazil and China during two Knowledge Network seminars at the 116th North American International Toy Fair. The seminars will provide in-depth analyses to help growing companies confidently decide whether to expand their businesses to these markets.

Both sessions will take place on Sunday, February 17 in Level 1, Hall 1E, Room 1E11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The presentation on Brazil will take place at 9:30 a.m., while the China session will take place at 11:30 a.m.

During the educational sessions, Anne McConnell, The Toy Association’s senior director of market research & data strategy, will provide an overview of each country’s demographics and business environment. Philippe Guinaudeau, CEO of Kidz Global, will discuss consumer preferences in Brazil and China, including relevant insights into kids’ daily routines and their digital activities, play trends, popular entertainment brands among kids, pocket money trends, and more. Additionally, during the session on China, a member of the Association’s External Affairs team will provide a brief update on the status of Chinese tariffs and potential impact on the toy industry.

“Brazil is the largest economy in South America with a population of more than 200 million – 45.7 million of whom are kids 0 to 14 years old. China is the world’s most populous country with nearly 1.4 billion people living there and over 236 million kids 0 to 14 years old,” McConnell said. “The seminars are meant to explore both countries and their specific cultural preferences, business environments, and market demographics to help growing companies gauge whether their brands and products are a good fit in these regions.”

The Global Market Research sessions are free for Toy Association members. The registration fee for non-members is a flat rate of $99 to attend one or both presentations.

Toy Fair will take place February 16 to 19 at the Javits Center in New York City. Visit ToyFairNY.com for up-to-the minute details on exhibitor listings, educational sessions, hotels, and more, or download the free Toy Fair Mobile app on iTunes or Google Play.
