Toy Association Hosts Members & Friends at Summertime Events
July 16, 2018 | More than 100 toy company members, industry influencers, and play professionals gathered at The Toy Association’s New York City headquarters last week to network, learn about toy safety, and celebrate play.
On the evening of Tuesday, July 10, the Association held its second annual Summer Happy Hour event for members, colleagues, and friends. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks were served as guests enjoyed lively conversation throughout the evening.
“It's important to create opportunities for members and Association staff to connect and build upon their relationships in a relaxed setting,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of The Toy Association. “We're thankful for a fantastic outpouring of members and representatives of the larger toy community who joined us last week for a great party and want to remind members to consider our headquarters their ‘home away from home,’ booking the private member offices and meeting rooms when they’re visiting New York City.”
Activities continued the following day, when select bloggers and digital influencers from The Toy Insider’s Sweet Suite event visited the office to learn important toy safety tips from the Association’s “Toy Safety Mom,” Joan Lawrence, senior vice president of standards and regulatory affairs. The event marked one of several summer initiatives focused on spreading awareness about toy safety among consumers and media.
Guests were treated to lunch, an inside look at the organization’s headquarters, and a presentation that covered summer safety tips, emerging toy safety concerns, and an overview of all that the industry does to ensure the safety of toys and games.
