Play Fair ’17 to Double in Size; Host Special Preview for Media

January 23, 2017 | Play Fair, the consumer show celebrating play and entertainment, will be doubling its exhibit area due to the overwhelming popularity of last year’s event. Hosted by the Toy Industry Association (TIA) and LeftField Media, Play Fair 2017 will take place November 4-5 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

“The inaugural Play Fair was a rousing success, with more than 20,000 people coming together for a fun-filled weekend of hands-on exhibits and awe-inspiring displays filled with  toy and entertainment brands,” said Marian Bossard, TIA’s senior vice president of global market events. “Having grown the size of the show, we are thrilled to be able to welcome even more kids, parents, and play-lovers to Play Fair 2017!”

For the first time, the show will host a special media preview on the evening of Friday, November 3rd, giving members of the press exclusive viewings of the hottest toys and games and access to unique experiences.

When Play Fair opens its doors Saturday morning, families can expect to see tons of new and beloved toys and brands, interactive activities and demos, never-before-seen exclusives, live guest appearances, meet-and-greets with popular characters, and plenty of opportunities for play.

This year’s presenting sponsors, Nickelodeon and Toys“R”Us, will engage attendees with featured content, large interactive exhibit spaces, character meetings, and more. Confirmed exhibitors already include: LEGO, ALEX Brands, K'Nex, Snazaroo, SCS Direct, VTech, Mattel, Hasbro, and Safari.

Launched in February 2016, Play Fair was created to satisfy consumer demand for fun, hands-on experiences with new toys and innovative products. In 2017, the show will move to November to take advantage of the pre-holiday shopping season. Attendees will have the opportunity to buy toys and games directly from exhibitors, as well as through an on-site retail store dedicated to show products. Tickets to attend Play Fair are now available for public purchase at www.PlayFairNY.com.

Companies that would like to exhibit at Play Fair, or learn how to optimize their booth experiences at the show, are encouraged to contact LeftField Media’s Kristin Frank for more information.
