Licensing Takes Center Stage at Toy Fair: LIMA to Host After-Hours Event and Present Two Sessions

LIMAFebruary 3, 2017 | Toy industry professionals interested in the licensing business are encouraged to take advantage of several licensing-related events happening during Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) 114th North American International Toy Fair, taking place February 18-21 in New York City.

Toy Fair attendees are invited to purchase tickets for the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association’s (LIMA) Toy Fair Networking Event, sponsored by Dependable Solutions and SURYS (with Crayola as the event’s theme sponsor), taking place on Monday, February 20th at the Hard Rock Café from 6-8 p.m. Tickets cost $65 for TIA and LIMA members and $85 for non-members. The ticket price includes hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Interested parties can register through LIMA’s website.

LIMA is also presenting two of the five licensing educational sessions taking place at Toy Fair, “How to Evaluate a License,” which will take place Saturday, February 18th from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and “Staying Ahead of the Curve,” on Sunday, February 19th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The sessions will share information on how retailers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders make decisions on adding a particular license to their mix as well as how to keep up with the numerous licenses coming from a variety of mediums including TV, streaming platforms, YouTube, music, console and mobile gaming.

Registration for the seminars is required. TIA members pay one rate of $99, while non-members pay $159 – whether they attend one or all five licensing sessions. More information about Toy Fair’s educational programming can be found in the “Knowledge Network” section of www.ToyFairNY.com.

LIMA members will have access to the TIA Member Hospitality Lounge, located in the rear of Javits Center’s Hall 1E. The private lounge offers seating, complimentary WiFi, computer and printer access, charging stations, and a self-service coat check. The Lounge will be open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday-Monday and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Tuesday.
